Prof. Eva Levring Jäghagen
Eva Levring Jäghagen is a professor and senior consultant in DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology (DMFR). She is past president of EADMFR and now appointed regional director representing Europe in IADMFR. She is Head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Unit and Deputy Head of the Department of Odontology at Umeå University. Furthermore, she is teaching several undergraduate and postgraduate courses within DMFR and pedagogics. She is a supervisor and examiner of specialist trainees, PhD- and MSc-students within DMFR. She was awarded for her contributions to undergraduate education in 2017 and for her contributions to research education in 2021.
Her research focuses on the benefit of detecting carotid artery calcifications in panoramic radiographs for the prevention of cardiovascular events. Further, on swallowing dysfunction in snorers, the elderly, and patients with stroke and head and neck cancer.

Prof. Eva Levring Jäghagen will provide an overview of current approaches to undergraduate education in oral radiology. The presentation will include representative examples of course content, expected learning outcomes, and strategies for achieving them.
Results will be presented from a recent survey conducted by the EADMFR Education Committee among European dental schools, examining the allocation of resources and curriculum time for oral radiology education. The presentation will also include a brief discussion on artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching.
